Just purchased an ADA MP 1 Classic. I've wanted an MP-1 since they first came out, but never got one, or a rack system set up till now. I have in my rack so far, an ART SGX2000 Express w/X-15 foot controller, ADA MP 1 Classic,Furman M8x2, and powering it, a Marshall 9005 stereo power amp. Future gear will follow. Now about me, I live in North Alabama, work in automotive manufacturing, like to bass fish and bow hunt(just a good ol suthn'boy) enjoy 80s hair metal and shred guitar(Yngwie, Joe Stump, Vai, etc.) here to learn and pick up pointers about midi, but looking at some of the dates on a lot of these posts, doesn't seem very active here. We'll give her a try anyways and see.  :headbang:

Hey EL34Dragon, welcome to the depot :wavingsmiley: :thumb-up: .  Activity here tends to ebb and flow.

Congratulations landing a MP-1 Classic and your rack is coming along nicely.  Ask any questions you have and we'll do our best to answer.  Also, while the dates may be old on lots of posts, they have been built up over many years.

Hey EL34Dragon,

Welcome to the Depot!

It's been pretty quiet here for the last week or so, but we're always here to help.

Congrats on picking up a Classic, one of my favorite versions of the MP-1 for vintage amp tones. MIDI in that preamp is pretty simple really, just program change assignments, MIDI mapping and MIDI channel assignments.

I don't have any experience with the ART gear, but basic MIDI shouldn't be an issue when they are all connected and configured properly. I'll check in later to see what's going on.
I only have two brain cells left, ...and I'm saving them for the weekend!

Welcome to the Depot!

Sounds like your rack is coming along nicely. I love the Classic, you got lucky there, they are not easy to find.

Now, show us pix of your gear,.....or it doesn't exist ;)

Pics as soon as I get it all in the rack, just got my amp back from British Audio in Nashville. Awesome dudes there. Ordered some midi cables too, should be here Monday. My plan is to use efx from the SGX, and the MP 1 as my preamp.

Sounds like a good plan :thumb-up: .  So the Classic came after the MP-2 (which I use) and kept some of the MP-2 features (sort of but cut back/more simple versions), like the noise gate, some cab emulation for recording or direct to PA, stereo fx loop but no mix controls.
