Hello!  New member here, first time posting... I recently acquired a 1.28i digital delay that works, but presents a fairly loud 'whoosh' or 'thump' along with the delayed signal, in time with the repeats.  Does this sound familiar to anyone out there?  Thinking it is probably high time I go through and change all the electrolytic caps... Don't know what else to check, though.  Any help would be appreciated!  Also, does anybody have a schematic for this unit?  Thanks!

I just went through the vault and to my surprise, none of the ADA delays are in it.

I'm not sure if any of them have ever been posted in any of the topics.

Sheesh, I'm not much help today
I only have two brain cells left, ...and I'm saving them for the weekend!

Well I hope somebody has them out there because I don't have them either

Hey Smokestack52, I've attached schematics for the D1280, not sure if that's the same??  MJMP should be able to help when he sees this post.

No fear, I come to the rescue

I attached the schematics. It says for the i2.56 but the difference between the i.64, i1.28 and i2.56 is the amount of RAM chips and 1 ic. More info in the IC list.

Thank you MJMP and Richard,

I've downloaded these into my ADA Doc folder considering I have a bunch of these "i" series delays myself, and I may find myself in need of them one day.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to include schematics for the ADA effects in the vault too, or should things like that be in another location called The Toy Box?

Just saying  :dunno:

Do you have all 3 of the models?

Yes I do. I have one i64, three of the  i1.28, and two of the i2.56.

Did you forget how many S-1000 delays I have? (11 is the magic number).

Not to mention the D-4s I have and the 2FX.

Not to brag or anything, but I think I might own one of the larger collections of ADA gear here in the USA.

I've had one of the 1.28i delays for a long time. I found another 1.28i and the 64i in a pawn shop here in 2009.

I bought the two 2.56i delays within the last couple of years off ebay. They both work. Would you like one?

In fact, I think it's noteworthy to mention when I played with Toxxsick around 12-13 years ago, I was using the 64i and the 1.28i in my MP-2 Stack Rig. One set for short delay with modulation, and one long delay with modulation, each in a separate loop in the MP-2. I think I also had the 2FX in there as a doubler.

IIRC, the 6U rack rig was:

                      Furman PL-8
                      ADA MP-2
                      ADA 2FX
                      ADA 64i
                      ADA1.28i
                      ADA MT-200
                      ADA Split-Stack Angled cabs (x2)
ADA Split-Stack Vintage Bottom cabs (x2)

On the floor was an ADA MXC with Quad Switch and CCP and a Bad Horsie Wah pedal into the front of the rig.

It was a fun little rig I could haul around in a Dodge Stratus.

Hey Harley, :woohoo2:  that is a nice rig :thumb-up: Unfortunately, we didn't get the ADA FX in Australia.  Nunz (Pro Audio) brought in MP-1, MB-1, MP-2, B200s, G500s, B500b (maybe 1 or 2 TS100??).  Originally some split stacks (then made them here under license, well they weigh allot). BTW I'd love one, unfortunately yours are all US voltage  .  I went for the original Quad Verb, great unit and still serving me well after all these years.  The original QV manual (one of the best manuals ever IMHO) has a great (and long) description of digital reverb and all the reverb parameters.  They really cared back then...

Richard,

Wow! You folks in Aus. missed out on ADA until the preamps finally came out. That's a bummer! I was using the ADA effects way before the MP-1 was invented. ADA just had effects that sounded so much better than any pedals, except for the Flanger.

I know what you mean about the manuals. Back in the day, they were all about teaching you how to use your gear, and it wasn't just Alesis. Digitech, Roland, Eventide, Lexicon, and TC Electronic were all the same way until it started to become obvious that most guitar players were as dumb as bricks, with the attention span of a gnat.

Oh well, what are ya going to do?
