Title: Face Plates
Post by: DannyjoeCarter on December 27, 2016, 08:45:43 PM
Folks as I mentioned to rnolan in another thread, back in 96' you could pick up a used ADA MP-1 for $80.00 here in Las Vegas and the only issue was if the faceplate was clean and undamaged. I used to call the guys at 420 Lesser Street at ADA and order them for around $50.00 or so if I remember right and have three in reserve. Not anymore though

My question is, is there anywhere that has, or can reproduce the MP-1 faceplates either here in the US or Europe?

OK wrong terminology Folks; I believe the correct term was called the membrane switch, is there anyone who would/could reproduce those or have one or two extra for sale?

 Any advice much appreciated  :)

IIRC they can't be sourced new ??  You may be able to salvage one from a spare MP1 being used/scavenged for parts.  There's a post from ages ago (somewhere on here) where the guy attached a row of buttons to solve the problem.  It didn't look pretty but it worked. I think he kind off attached it to the front of the unit.  Given that (mostly) once you get your MP1 set you rarely touch the buttons, the switches on many units are still fine.

There are some company's that can reproduce them, problem is you need to buy it in some volumes, else it would be to expensive.

OK good to know, just wasn't sure.
I'll just make sure the units are clean looking and spend a little more money than a few I've seen that are around Reverb and Ebay in the last week.
 Thanks again guys!

I have a pristine faceplate with some buttons that don't work, so be careful and test them first.

You got it MarshallJMP. Currently I'm only able to buy from Ebay and Reverb seeing how no one has any for sale here in Vegas so I can't test them until I get the unit. I see tons of Pod racks stuff or AxeFX but have not seen an ADA here in years.
So it's why I'm buying several MP-1s just in case something is not functioning right.  :)
