A few rehearsal tracks

from my band.

These are two songs from our EP, performed at a recent rehearsal with just one mic placed in the center of the room and padded so the levels aren't completely overblown.  The guitar doesn't seem as loud as the rest because the recording mic is up about crotch-high from the floor, while my guitar cabs are placed on top of the 4x10 bass cabs and up at ear level.   No overdubs or any studio fuckery here, just playing the songs straight away...imperfections and all.

Please enjoy responsibly.    ;)

Thank you!   I should mention that these two are the "happier" sounding songs we have.

Really cheerful, reminded me of the opening titles to "Little House On The Prairie" :amaze:

Only joking Kim, I really liked it, was this using the MP-2?

Thanks!  Yes, this is my "Rig of Fire" in my signature.  But like I said, the speakers in my cabs are actually up at ear level while the room mic is down closer to the floor...hence everything else being a bit louder.   Come to think of it, I'm going to raise that mic up to ear level at next rehearsal.   :thumb-up:

Dig this.  Cool to hear doom metal played on an ADA.  Kinda puts me in the mind of Candlemass and Pentagram with a bit of Melvins going on.  Is your tone base Fat Hi Gain for this one?

Thanks!

I definitely dig Candlemass and a lot of Pentagram; the Melvins I never really got into though. My settings:

Room EQ about 9:00 position
Voice  7 Warm Hi Gain
Drive 85
OD 70
Master 79

Lo  +10
Mid  -2
Hi  0
Pres  +4

100Hz  +10
170  +2
280  0
470  +6
800  -2
1.3  0
2.2  0
3.8  +4
6.3  0

Comp, Wah, Chorus, Trem, all Out.  Gate as needed.
MT200 poweramp's Presence always at about 10:00 position.

The speakers I have in my cabs have a LOT to do with making this setting sound good.  Using this setting at a low volume won't have good results.  Even using this setting with my Quad Tube cranked up, the G12T-75 speakers just won't color it in the same way you hear in these clips.  Pulling the Direct signal from the preamp to the board is not the same sound either.  It's all in the speakers and making them bark a bit.   There's a Celestion V-Type and an Eminence (unknown model) in each of my 4x12 cabs (but only wired for 2x12)  I definitely like the V-Type speaker; I may replace the unknowns with V-Types soon.
