Blue Tooth Guitar connectors

So I went to a gig last night and the guitarists were using those (newish?) blue tooth thingys that plug into your guitar and the other one into your amp input.  So it all looks goochy and cool but it recks the sound.  This guy had a nice LP gold top and a $6000 boogie.  Frankly it sounded shit.  I couldn't believe how much it recked his sound   It's not surprising though if you know anything about how blue tooth works.  Even the latest version of the standard is nowhere near the bit rate you need for decent fidelity.  But then people like mp3 files (yuck) and crappy ear buds.  Convenience comes at a cost, in this case his sound.

The other trap with these things is they need to stay charged.  My bass player (who seems to buy anything that's shiny and new) brought one to rehearsals a while ago, it went flat in no time and I had to give a lead to use.  I will say though that on bass it wasn't too bad sounding.

But on guitar, loud and live, more than disappointing. I spoke with the guy after the gig, he's going to use a lead next time.
