Anyone ever use a Delta Labs Effectron? Are they all this damn noisy?

rnolan:
Hey Rob, never used one, I sure they aren't all noisy or they wouldn't have sold any ??

RobbHell:
Yea but I've read a lot of complaints about a similiar noise that I also believe is in the Effectron II as well. Spoke with an old time user that offered to give me another.. he described similiar issues in his model.

Pretty its like a bad grounding issue.... the unit has enough internal noise to trigger the effects input with nothing plugged in. You'll noise creating delay and have looping noise lol.

rnolan:
Wow, that's bad, seems like something is wrong, maybe needs a noise mod, more MJMP territory here but maybe some components are old and dying ? caps etc.
Have you opened it up and had a look for anything sort of obvious ? something loose, IC not quite in socket as well as it could be, anything looking on the edge (caps, resistors, etc)

RobbHell:
These no apparent damage but yes old components. The Effectron also doesn't have an On Off Switch...so who knows how long its sat plugged in lol. I replaced and enlarged the Power Supply cap... that didn't help.
