  Ok so the pot is not installed internally like in the photo and it's pretty large base.  It's say the size of a guitar pot.  I measured and it's about 2.5cm x 2cm base.  I have some alpha pots but I think I could something smaller to do the same job.

The smallest I know is 7mm, the one you use is 24mm. MP-1 uses 16mm. Maybe go for a 12 or 16mm for this.
