Why don't you guys always re-resistor / recap the MP-1 input stage?

How come the noise mods don't upgrade the input stage R85 - R91, as well as C35, C36, and C38? These are near tube heat, and several of my resistors drifted and the caps have high ESR. I would think upgrading these resistors to 1/2w 1% metal films and upgrading the caps to better ones would be standard procedure?

Good question

So how much did they drift? Also what was the ESR of those caps? Must say never had a problem with these.

Well unfortunately those tiny resistors went out in the trash a few days ago. I want to say, if I remember correctly, that R92 510ohm was around 700 ohms, and one of the 1M possibly R90 resistors was 1.2M. Also R72 200ohm was around 220ohm. Of course this particular MP-1 appears to have literally been run over by a car, so there's that.

ok that's  a bit high although it won't affect anything. There is also no need to use 1/2W resistors for the 510 en 1M resistors, there's no current going through these.

I know, but I'm slowly replacing every capacitor and resistor in the thing, and I have a surplus of 1/2w metal film resistors lying around. Might as well use them up.
