I bought one of these (EV RE320 Chinese but licensed) a while ago to use on kick drum. Cost about $280 AUD as opposed to $800 ish or more for the US model EV RE20 (which BTW is arguably the best dynamic mic ever made, sounds great on kick (particularly combined with a SM57 aimed at the edge to get some click/highs) and is also a great guitar cab mic). The variant I bought has a switch/eq curve for kick drum. I've been using it live now for a bit and it's a really good kick mic. I still haven't found anything to knock the SM57 off from being the best snare mic I've ever used (not to mentions toms and anything else you point it at).
