So after searching around and asking a lot of questions, I found an amp and cab builder that put together a nice case with black tolex. The price was right and turn around time was good also. EB Cabs in Sydney
Guitars: Fernandes ST 40, FST 125, Fernandes TEJ LTD ED and a Vortex. Chapman ML3 Pro Modern.

ADA MP1, ENGL E530, ENGL 840/50 Power amp, Carvin X100B, 2X12 cab.

Nice  :thumb-up: , how does the price compare to buying one online ?  Also it's 5 RU? so an odd size.

Nice, and I like the 5U.   Sometimes 4U isn't enough, and 6U is too much. :D

Thanks guys, it was worth the extra research, I'm very happy with it.
The price was great and turn around time was good also. All I wanted was 5 spaces, It's enough for me. The savings over getting one from overseas was substantial. We worked together on the size so that there wasn't so much depth behind the power amp which is 300mm, and enough space at the front. I'll probably get a new 2x12 cab at some point for $450. The business is actually EB amps and cabs. You can find him on Faceb**k.

All in Australian Dollars
$295.00 and $30 delivery.

The cost from a store on ebay.
$378.85 and $276.86 delivery

Hey Dante, resurrect away :thumb-up:  What a great idea :metal:
A 4RU in Seafoam green or Tweed would be perfect :woohoo2:

I love the kickstand and at 12.5" depth, just big enough for a MP-2 with connectors (I just measured it).

Only slight downside is no rear rack rails (if you needed them) although you could screw some in if required.

Also, being wood, you can screw into it to mount a power board (which is my main issue with normal plastic racks)

Cool idea, but the depth would never be able to accommodate any of my Lexicon or Eventide gear, as they extend beyond the depth of those cases.

Something I thought about doing years ago was trying to build rack head cases of my own that would have built-in power supplies. This idea was inspired by the Rockman designed head cases that they used to make, with the power supply built in to the right side of the case with the 19" rack to the left. Of course, the way I would do it would be to buy a Furman power supply and gut everything from its 1U case and re-mount all that in a case that would span top to bottom of the rack case, with all the outlets and protections. It should still fit on top of a speaker cab like a Marshall, or similar amp head. Maybe I should try that and see how it turns out.
I only have two brain cells left, ...and I'm saving them for the weekend!

Upon further inspection, I believe there is no cover for the back.

I'd be able to easily screw a couple pieces of 1x1"  on left & right and apply velcro, then make a cover...but it's something to consider....I could see myself using it for the 'practice room' rig - that never gets moved, so no back is okay

I'd still use my SKB roto racks for the other rigs, they have covers :)
