Title: WTB: ADA STD-1 (studio version)
Post by: fazeka on April 26, 2022, 02:30:45 PM
Hi all,

I'm interested in an ADA STD-1 (studio version) as I have an Ursa MSP-126 that is interesting but alas has little means for tweaking of the tapped delays.

FWIW, I'm located in the U.S. (don't know if 220V versions are easily configurable to run on 120V?).

Cheers,
Chris

Hey Chris, you can run 220/240v units in the US using a step up transformer (117v to 220v), here in Australia we use a 240v to 117v step down transformer to run US voltage gear.  I assume they are easy to come by  :dunno: .

Yeah, I figured as much. Though I'm trying to avoid more transformers in my home studio... lol

I understand.  I'm not fond of using step downs either.  I recently did some transformer swaps in my 2 MP-1s (the US one sort of works so now has the 240v transformer) and 2 of my MP-2s as I had both US and Australian variants.

It should be quite easy to swap the transformer to a 110V one. If you want I can check what you need?

Yes, the idea would be that if I were to obtain a 220V STD-1, what would I need to obtain parts-wise/what would I need to do operation-wise to get it to operate at 110/120 VAC.

Thanks MarshallJMP!

Just a small transformer and a new wall plug.

Didn't got an email?

I don't have a transformer but you could get one from Mouser or Digikey I guess.

I thought I sent you an email. Maybe I PM'ed you? Oh well.

Do you have a Mouser/Digikey part number, perhaps? Or at least mechanical and physical specs (VA rating, voltages, dimensions)?

Thanks!
