Bass Guitar Patch?
« on: Time Format »

Anyone every made a bass guitar patch for the MP-1? Maybe using the SS signal? I'm looking for an easy way to record my bass and thought the MP-1 might work.

We used my MP-1 for my brother's bass about 25 years ago but I do remember we used the clean tube channel so we could dial up a little gain to give the bass a little bite.  It sounded pretty good recording into a Vesta-Fire 4 track  :metal:

Given the MP1 is just a GREAT guitar preamp, it will also work fine for bass (not as good as MB1 though), although the EQ is leaning much more to guitar (octve up), not that you can't get a good bass sound as is, you may find an external EQ helpful (eg in FX loop ?), and while the SS is a good starting place for bass sounds, I'm also attracted to the clean tube (or even dist tube  >:D ) options. Hey if it sounds good, use it...
