MP-1 A Weird Problem
« on: Time Format »

Hi everyone! My MP-1 has a problem. When I played with it... After 30 or 40 minutes later, It's screen is closing and sometimes just number signs but I can't change the "number"(sorry I don't know It's English name. I can explain it "Saved Tone Number") or I can't edit anything... What should I do?

BTW because of this problem, I don't sell my MP-1. Also I love it very much.

Ok... What should I do for this problem?

Seems like a digital problem, the ┬Ácontroller that locks up or a brown out due to a power supply problem.

Hey Orkun, often we call it the patch (number), but the screen also displays parameter values when editing a program/patch.
One thing you can check is the ribbon cable that connects the front panel to the main board, when that isn't seated/connected properly you can get some strange results on the screen and can't edit/change anything with the front buttons.  It may be something else but this is worth checking and easy to do (careful with the ribbon cable though, I've noticed they get a bit brittle over time).

BTW I didn't see you reply, MarshallJMP. Sorry, thanks too  :thumb-up: .

Tomorrow I will check the ribbon cable and I will write the situations here.

Hey everyone, today I checked my MP-1. There is a red cable, near the input. It isn't soldered. Is the problem cause of that?

You mean the red wire wrapped around the other 2 wires? if so that's normal.

No, It's broken. It isn't wired like the brown and other cable.
