Title: ADA MP2 Noise mods
Post by: mikeskory on April 13, 2017, 08:14:32 AM
4/13/2017  I'm doing the 1st of 2 mods on the MP2.  http://adadepot.com/mods/MP-2-NoiseMod.pdf

Doing the R913, C333 etc area now.  Can anyone confirm that this woks to eliminate the "squeel"? :banana-guitar:

Hey mikeskory, in many cases it does fix the squeal, but as I posted before, depends what's causing it.  But it will definitely help reduce noise and not hurt anything to do it.  Did you measure the test point first ?

Good point Richard!

Maybe try swapping the tubes positions in the MP-2 first. If the V1 is pushing harder than V2, that can cause a squeal in high gain settings.

Good advice Harley  :thumb-up: Also as posted before (in previous thread) check your input jack, it is often the culprit and they ware out (this is worth doing regardless), remember to check the thread length, the MP-2 jack is longer thread than standard jack

If it's the jack then the squeel only happends when nothing is plugged in.
