My band had a July 4th gig at a tiny local pub and we got some audio recorded from it.   :thumb-up:
Very small place; capacity about 100 and about 50 people showed up not knowing what was about to happen.   ;)

Stan (vocals/bass) set up two mics somewhere in the room...don't know where as I didn't see them....but the sound in that place was really nice.  Guitar and bass was not mic'ed or DI'd, just our rig speakers alone.  Vocals went through a small PA.  Drums are loud, as they always are....lol   No overdubs or other fuckery, just straight ahead. Turn up your speakers and enjoy!

...adding them as they finish uploading.

I could hear the Sabbath influence in the first song...

And.....one from our new album!

Slight hiccup in the beginning; I realized I forgot to switch a pedal to the correct setting for this song, so I had to reach down and get that.

Good songs and the sound was also very good with only 2 mics.

Hey Kim, awesome my friend  :thumb-up: , you guys are kicking serious arse  :whoohoo!: .  Great energy (which to me is the most important aspect).

Now I know you just chucked up some mikes for the recording.  What it resulted in was not enough cut in the guitar (needs some 6k presence), no kick drum  :dunno: , snare and little toms sounded (f**king) great but way to prevalent (compared to the rest of the band). Now I'm sure in the room it was way different, I'm just focusing on what I can hear. Now as a veteran of this kind of audio capture, one good idea is to take a feed from the desk and a live mike, next to the desk, and blend the 2. If you have 4 channel recording, then take the PA L/R and 2 mikes (so 4 channels). To mike up the room, I'd start just either side of the desk (if it's central) with some "ok" to decent condenser mikes (eg rode NT5s).
Studio Rig: Stuff; Live Rig: More Stuff; Guitars: A few

Thanks, Richard. I will check into that, as I haven't adjusted any of the EQ yet since new pups.... :thumb-up:
