I have had a replacement display in storage for years, thanks to Matt Trull (aka trullmon). Well, I finally put it in my MP-2 this morning, it's blue, and much brighter. Thanks Matt!!
-
Looks.. mmnn.. bright 8)
Can't see what it's like reading it with the light falling like this.
How is it reading at various angles? The original is difficult reading unless the MP-2 is angled upwards - or maybe mine is going off..
Wonder where Matt is these days.. miss him, a real fun dude.
-
It's a lot easier to read than the original. From all angles :thumb-up:

Very nice blue display! :thumb-up:
And nice double rack...
Do you like the Boss GX-700, perhaps???
Sometimes I miss it...I loved my old MP-1 in the GX-700 loop.
Very good combo.

Does any Display work or what are the Specifications for the Display? Blue looks fancy :thumb-up:

When I find something I like, I generally get two so that I have a backup. I got the second one when some guy was selling a rack. He posted a pic of the rack for sale and I saw the orange GX-700, so I asked him if it was for sale. I got it for $70....how could I say no to that?
My main rig is in the 4u rack, the 2u rack is a backup (with the MP-2) and I usually plug it into a combo amp

First rule of Government spendings: Why build one when you can have two at twice the price..

You can get the displays in a bunch of different colours and they are pretty cheap, IIRC they also work in a Quadverb :dunno: . The last one MJMP sent me to try worked fine (character set compatible, easy install (be careful of the ribbon cable the screen loom goes under, easy to knock it/dislodge it). Apart from that there's just one solder connection.
@Van, the screen in my original MP-2 is like you describe, over time you need to be more and more front on to it to read it and it gets a bit fainter, I only notice when I want to change a patch (which is rare in that one..)

From what I can tell in the pics, that cool blue really is a lot more aesthetically pleasing on the MP-2. And if it's easier to read too, then it's a win-win. :thumb-up:

Yeah Dante,
That is a cool display :thumb-up:
Speaking of Trullmon, anyone heard from him lately?
-
I hear from him occasionally on Faceb**k - he's been pretty busy lately. He (like me) fixes his own vehicle(s), as another 'hobby' that keeps him pretty busy.
-
Ahhh, so he is still alive. I haven't talked with him in two years.

Does Trullmon still play guitar?
