MP-2 Noise Mod parts sourcing
« on: Time Format »

Am in the process of sourcing all the goodies for the MP-2 noise mod.  Finding a 4700uf @ 35V capacitor from a reputable source that will fit into the unit seems challenging.  Everything else seems to have plenty of availability.

Given how bad the capacitor supply chain is these days, I won't order from anywhere other than DigiKey, Mouser, Newark, etc.  eBay, Amazon and AliExpress are off limits to me.

When I am done with this, I will likely have a DigiKey or Mouser shopping cart to share with the world and possibly some "kits" available for sale since I will likely wind up ordering in larger quantities to lower the per component cost.

Here's the list of caps I ordered from Amazon (it's 2 years old but you should still be able to find them)

FYI, this is the update I gave 2 years ago and it's holding up perfectly.

I like that shopping list!

Gregg, please post yours when you get it all together too - these are great references for us non-technical types to grab the item we need, when a cap starts swelling or whatever.

Sorry I didn't put this list up sooner...

https://www.digikey.com/en/mylists/list/WGA246SP1F

Caution, the quantities are exaggerated to optimize price points. I also ordered 2 different types of 4700uf 35V caps.  One should edit the list to appropriate quantities before ordering to avoid an excessive number of "spares."  I also have annotated the MP-2 part numbers in the customer reference field.

Hey Gregg, thanks for the list :thumb-up: .  I saved it as a pdf (attached) in case anyone prefers it.
