I'm not sure why, but people tend to believe that their MP-1 is still a $1000 unit. I've seen them go up on the bay and reverb for 500+. I can't really comprehend this, the prices for the MP-1 varies quite considerably, some people will sell them for as low as $100, yet others want $800 and I'm just talking about the STOCK MP-1's.
I was not going to share this, because if the seller is a forum member I didn't want to step on their toes, but...
This is a current eBay listing (didn't want to post the listing itself as I don't know if there are any rules preventing that) and the seller wants $2800 for the rig, although I'm not 100% familiar with a couple of the units, I still don't see $2800.
Am I missing something?
I don't believe that is a Forum member. At least I don't think so anyway.
Most of the Forum members offer the gear they want to sell here on the Forum to other members first before they post on a website. I believe some of the outrageous prices on sites like ebay are posted by people who really don't want to sell. Although there are those people out there who believe everything they have is worth it's weight in gold. I just ignore stuff like that anyway.

Yep, seen those prices too.
At some point, someone will offer a pack of used condomes because the brand no longer exists..
Buy a lot of ADA's and e530's, stacks of tubes, and wait until the UD Climate Panel puts a ban on tubes, then sell it all on the deep net, and laugh in the face of danger while lighting a flamethrower 'cause it's better than cursing darkness.
(I go into this mode when plummers are changing exhaust pipes, halfways destroying my bathroom and kitchen)
Yeah the prices are a disgrace, I am on the lookout for another MP1 to modify, and I have seen some people selling for silly money. And how I justify the cost of a unit is by how much it cost for my sotck unit. I think I got the stock unit for about or just under £200 including shipping. I'ver seen MP1s being sold for £300-£500.
WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But then I see the occasional one got for closer to £150 and that's the time when I'll strike on ebay being a fully qualified ebay sniper :thumb-up: The guy PrimalScream91 mentions selling that gear, he'll not shift that stuff, not for that price. He'll probably have to sell in bits and for a lot cheaper. This is my experience of ebay and I have a lot of experience buying and selling. This looks like the type of lot that you see for a year or two that never sells becuase it's over priced. Some people need to get a grip.
I think 400-600$ is more realistic. Not 2800$, I wonder were he got that price?

In his own little world, everything goes the way he wants it to.
In the german Bay, someone sells an Ampulator for 1100€
I think this is a little too much. But it is pretty rare, isnt it?
1100 euro for an ampulator is too much, they usually go for around 600 euro.
I guess it all depends on three things;
1) How bad the buyer wants it (and is willing to pay)
2) How good of a salesman the seller is
3) How stupid the buyer is to overpay. But, some folks have disposable cash, they can throw money at stuff to fix it. (i.e. I play like crap, I'll buy the gear that guy uses, it'll make me good like him. $800 seems fine to me...get three in case one breaks)
I got the feeling he's just basing it on what it cost him without any knowledge of the prices for those things these days.
Whatever the case may be, I doubt it's going to move any time soon.
To expand on Dante's comment: Some will simply advertise to a known too high price, well knowing that at some point someone, who either aren't knowledge enough or can't locate that thang now that they damned want it, will drop by.
Can't beat the mentality of either category. Pass the street, not'n to see, move on, move on..
On the plus side, it's a nice rig he's put together albeit I agree the price is out there. Not to mention shipping, 2 cabs, B200s plus the other bits... won't be cheap. If it's all in good nick as he says, then I recon somewhere between $1,000 to $1,500 AUD is a fair(ish) price.
IT's alright except for the BBE, those are tone-suckers
I've never used a BBE, they seem to get mixed reviews here, some like them some are less than enamored with them.
I looked at one of those around the same time I was shopping for Noise gates.
One of the things I wanted to be able to control was signal degradation, and harmonic loss from so much processing. In addition to the dbx noise gates, I also bought an Aphex Type C Aural Exciter. I still have that too. An awesome unit.
