Hello everyone,
I want to ask of any of you have had experience with the Rocktron VP4 preamp in a past life? I am looking into one with the possibility that I may mod it to accept Egnater preamp modules in the future.

Haven't bumped into one myself but sounds like a fun project :thumb-up: . My understanding (mostly form the members here) is the Rocktron stuff is very good.

My buddy had one awhile back and he loved it. IIRC it has a Vox sounding clean, a Fender crunch, a Plexi and a Rectifier sounding channel.
Pros:
Sounds good with Solid State or Tube power amp.(some pre's sound like :poop: through a S.S. power amp)
Covers all the bases with the 4 channels.
Midi Controllable
Made in USA
Nice warm tube tone and feel.
Think of it as an early Prophecy.
Cons;
Has no fx loop (unlike the 100 watt head version has a series and parallel loop). :dunno:
Output control knob is on the back side of the unit.
If you can pick it up for a descent $, you wont be disappointed :thumb-up:

Thanks Soloist for the opinion! I'll have to keep sleeping on the one that is currently on sale. Hopefully a better deal will pop up but these are uncommon. :dunno:
