Mmm, I sometimes think of resurrecting it, I put some boogie SPA 12AX7s in it a while ago, it's got a bit of a hum I need to get sorted at some point and it needs a power soak if you want to be in the same room as it  >:D

My Carvin X100B is a 100 watter and believe me, it eats 50W amps for breakfast...
And with the overall stage volume we have with the ACDC tribute, a 50W is okay but certainly not overkill, trust me!  >:D

Hey Chucky,

I just got to see this......you RAWK :metal:

You should try the MP-1 Classic. It sounds like the old Marshalls if you select the right program. But you guys have a good rendition of the overall sound, so don't mess with it!

I actually used my Classic on the first rehearsal we did... Well actually my "audition" night.
I didn't have the Carvin head at the time.
The Carvin has a layout pretty similar to the Marshall JTM45... So I think I should retry using the Classic
just to see.
But the Reezafratzitz is a really amazingly natural sounding pedal.
It's a must have.

Well that would fun, I'd really like to go to Canada, just wish I could afford it. The Marshall would definitely give any amp a run for it's money volume wise, it's a very loud amp  >:D

Hey Chucky,

The only reason I mentioned the Classic was because when I posted some of the tunes from The Road Kings, Paul Mckenna told me my guitar rig sounded like ACDC. (MP-1 Classic, MT100, AD/A S-1000, AD/A Digitizer 4, Digitech DSP 128, Through a Fender 2x12 with Altec 417G's). It's funny how I got that tone playing through a stock Stratocaster.

   ReezaFratzitz!!! What a name

I never heard of that pedal before. Is it an Overdrive or Distortion pedal? Who makes it? With a name like that, it makes me think the tech was smoking some of that left-handed tobacco when asked what should they call it!

Back in the day - pre ADA - I used a Carvin X100b and a Marshall JCM800. Carried both halfstacks in my 1971 VW Squareback...the heads were stored in the 'hood' because the engine was in the back. I would pop the hood and there would be two 100w heads inside ;)

That Carvin held it's own just fine and the EQ was a very nice feature.

I remember those days Dante. Carvins were the most affordable stacks you could get at the time. Even Peaveys were more expensive back then. The only reason I never got one of those was because if anything went wrong with them around this area, no one would work on them here. I would have had to send them back to the factory for any kind of service.

  • Long Live JURRRRIIIIIIE!!!!

We had a nice gig last night and found this video clip of us playing Rock or Bust that some dude caught on his phone.
Not the best quality. but it gives some idea.
I actually had the whole show recorded and  a friend did some video shoots...
I'll post some more vids whenever I sort out through the material.

I'm using my new Lovepedal Plexi 800 right in the Carvin head.

Totally nails the tone IMO.

I saw them live here in Cph back in their haydays, and I'd say you guys do a pretty neat job at it.
Your tone is amazingly correct, given the gear somewhat different from Angus'.
I'd say his tone had more presence to it; I think yours (in Thunder) has a Bit too much in the 1100-1500 Hz range.
I could easily be wrong, but didn't he play a lot with both pups on (in parallel)?
