Hi - just got my first MP-1 (1.38) and I am having a blast - I missed getting them when they first came out and I finally had a chance.

Thanks!

Be glad you didn't they were $900+ here in Cali back in the 80's and they were still pretty damn noisy too lol.
Now they can be found at a descent prices and the upgrades are amazing.

I have an Engl Powerball that just sits with a dust cover on it.  ADA SLAYS.

Hey Pat, welcome to the depot.
I think the MP1 was around $1500 (long time ago) and when I upgraded to MP2 ($2500) in Australia.  I hope it lasts forever (fortuitously they have been very robust), they MP1/2 IMHO are still the best guitar preamps in the world  :thumb-up: Enjoy your MP1  >:D they are great.
There's a v2.01 EPROM upgrade (http://www.marshalljmpmodshop.net/miscellaneous_parts_and_replacement_tubes.htm) which is probably a good idea and easy to do.  How old are the tubes ??
Cheers Richard
