Now will hot swapping tubes damage your mp-1, no it won't (I guess).I do it also sometimes but you need to be carefull, there are some erea's on the tubeboard that carry high voltage that can zap you pretty good.(I know).

Actually, hotswapping tubes does not make any sound, but I'll shut the unit down next time :p

But even if I do, and even if I get zapped while doing it, I know I won't die (well, it seems like MarshallJMP did not die yet).

More likely he's very (deservedly) lucky LoL and he knows what he's doing.  Have you ever been thrown against a wall by electricity ? I have, I was probably 14 (along time ago now and I never found the fuse I was checking), seriously, don't f*ck with it, turn the unit off to change tubes. And watch out for power caps (give them time to discharge) if that's where you are playing around.

More likely he's very (deservedly) lucky LoL and he knows what he's doing.  Have you ever been thrown against a wall by electricity ? I have, I was probably 14 (along time ago now and I never found the fuse I was checking), seriously, don't f*ck with it, turn the unit off to change tubes. And watch out for power caps (give them time to discharge) if that's where you are playing around.
