Zexcoil Pickups
« on: Time Format »

Hey Gang,

This is for all the Strat players on the Forum. Is anyone using Zexcoil pickups in their Strats?

If so, any feedback on these?

      Check out Zexcoils at: http://lawingmusicalproducts.com/strat/

      Thanks,

Hey Harley, cool concept, wouldn't mind trying them, I like the idea of on coil per string, be nice to take the 6 outputs and "mix" them how you want.

I would love to test them out too! I've know of them for sometime now.

Hey Richard,

Yes it is a cool concept. The descriptions they give of their pickups are a little vague in terms of putting together a set for a Strat. They seem to have a few different models for Strats, some seem to be a traditional Strat type, while others seem to be more of a hot rodded Strat tone. I'll have to call and get some suggestions from Scott Lawing about the tone I'm looking for.

You reminded me of a guitar I had heard about many years ago. I believe back in the early 80's Eddie Van Halen used a guitar on the song "Top Jimmy," called the Ripley Stereo Guitar. It had six switches on it to assign the strings to left or right stereo placement in the mix. I doubt if they're made anymore though.

Yep, but there seems to be a few of them around. Kramer made them.
