Power Amp Tech / Re: MT100 Output Transistor Is...

Guess what? I got all the parts from Mouser, and as of today, my MT-100 is working fine!  :woohoo2: :woohoo2: :woohoo2:

I know I'm supposed to change one part and test it, then change another, etc. but I just changed all four and tried it out. It works!!! Both channels!! YES!!!

I'll be rockin' it out for a couple days to put it to the test

That was an easy fix, and so fulfilling now that it's working in stereo again. I'm stoked

Recording - Studio Talk / New mixer day (NMD)
Last post by rnolan - May 16, 2024, 02:37:29 AM
So I bought yet another Behringer desk X2442USB. I now have 5 of them from various eras.  They are one of the best appointed and thought out desks I've ever come across.  I bought my first one over 30 years ago, they haven't changed much, added a few things along the way.  Unfortunately, over the years the channel assignment buttons get a bit gummy and the one I have in my studio rack started having issues with the pan pots on the last 2 stereo channels.  So I bought a new one coz I just need it to work...

So now I have a pretty new QX model (which don't rack mount  ) but have Klark Teknik FX (seems Behringer bought Klark Teknik) and a USB connector in between chan 1 & 2 for the Behringer radio mics (they don't work with anything else is my understanding, so useless for me :undecided: ).  So this one is in the live rig for the PA.  And now the new X model which do rack mount to replace the one in my studio rack. :woohoo2:

More refined?

In what way, refined tone or refined playability?

Quote from: Harley Hexxe on May 14, 2024, 12:45:24 PMNice score!

I never played a PIA, so I don't know how different they are from the Jem guitars. I used to own several of those, but I sold them off. They aren't really my style of guitar.

Congratulations though, I hope you get a lot out of it.

Thanks! It feels like my old JEMs.... but more refined.

I totally lucked out and picked up this Ibanez PIA3761 last night from a local sale (foreign student doing a fire sale before he moves back to his home country). The guitar is in mint condition and shows no signs of being played!  :woohoo2:

He still has a Kemper Powerhead ($1300) and a Marshall 1960A ($550). No tubes in those... hard pass.

The Impala will be a lot easier than the Rust-a-Rado, at least I hope so. I also need to replace the front rotors and maybe some suspension parts too. After 5 years, I guess it's time.
