...with your MP-1, of course?

For years I used an Alesis Quadraverb with mine, but sold that when I sold my MP-1.

Having recently reacquired an MP-1, I'm interested in building a rig back up around it.  Of course, there are several options, but I'm wondering what people are doing with theirs today?

Rack, pedals or both...throw 'em out here.

Thanks!

Currently I'm using an old ADA Digitizer 4 and a Lexicon MX-200 in loop and an Ibanez UE400 and AD202 in front of my MP-1.  I can do everything but a wah/filter with this setup.  Unfortunately I have not played live in a long time so I couldn't tell you how that goes over.  I just know that it sounds great at home and on the one time that I have recorded with it.
Pearce G2R with ADA TFX4 in loop.
ADA MB-1/B500B
And other non ADA stuff.

Kawai AQ-500 guitar, Korean Fender Lite Ash Strat, Electra X930 MPC modded, G&L L2K basses, Peavey T40, Fernandes basses.

I'm currently using a Zoom G9.2tt effects processor (effects before & after the preamp, MIDI controller) running 4 cable method into the ADA Depot 3TM mod MP-1 preamp. I run the output of the G9.2tt into the effects loop return of a Reverend Goblin 1x10 15 watt combo amp loaded with an Eminence Lil' Buddy hemp cone speaker. Perfect for small venues and the preamp makes it clean, crunchy, or scream.  8)

At home, I'll run the Zoom G9.2tt (effects before preamp only, MIDI controller) >  ADA Depot 3TM mod  MP-1 preamp > Rocktron Intellifex (100% wet/full stereo) > DMC System Mix Plus > Mackie 1402 VLZ mixer > Mackie MR 5 powered monitors.

I found a Boss GX-700 on Craigslist (I had no idea what it was until I saw the ad) and it's really cool. It's a backup preamp if my ADA Classic ever craps out during a show. The distortion is not fantastic, but it aint terrible either, and it's very responsive to picking attack, so that's cool.

Of course, I don't use that rig for live shows right now...but let's not try to bring logic into a conversation about art  :o

Dante...I see you also have a Quadraverb unit, as well.  Simple and functional.

In looking at many, many options; I keep finding myself hung up on the POD HD series as a controller/FX option that is way overkill in the preamp regard.

That said; as you mention, this could also serve as a backup option.

Hmmm...???

I used to run a Vox Tonelab LE post preamp and I was never really happy. After some advises I bouth a Lexicon MPX G2 and all that I wanted is there! Pre MP1 and Post MP1 effects in any order that you want with top of the line quality! My advise is: DONT BE INTIMINATED!!! If you know how to operate Windows or anything else that it's based on menus and sub-menus you wont have a problem after going thru the manual.

There are so many options these days.  When I bought my quadverb it was the only thing around that did 4 effects at the same time and I was trying to get away from lots of pedals/power supplies etc and simplify my rig.  It's been a great unit for many years.  I've also got an alesis midiverb 4 which seems very capable although I've not played around with it much.  More recently I was given a TC M-One XL which can do 2 effects (eg delay + reverb).  It's very nice and is now in my recording rack.  I've also heard good things about the TC G Major.  Recent posts regarding lexicon devices would indicate they are very good also.  I always loved the Lark 224X reverb in the studio (and live), they were the bees knees back when I was learning audio engineering but expensive.  Digitech also made some good gear.

I use mostly 80's ADA rack gear.Got quite a big rack and footpedal backed up with 2 marshall stacks.
-Furman
-Crybaby rack version, best wah i ever owned.
-Decimator pro rack G really good noise gate, very quick to respond.
-MP-1 3TM ultra + for all overdrive and distortion sounds
-MP-2 only used for cleans
-TC g force, used for reverbs and delays
-ADA MQ-1 EQ,for some minor tweaks
-ADA digitizer 4,great for chorus sounds
-ADA TFX 4,all analog unit, great flanger
-ADA 2FX,digital unit but has also a great flanger, sounds really analog
-ADA STD-1,again fully analog,my favorite chorus.
-ADA pitchraq for all pitchshifting, sounds really dirty and mean, pure evil  >:D
-Rocktron patchmate to switch all effects.

ADA MXC midi pedal with 2 ADA vol pedals and 2 quad switches + all ADA pedals for the 2FX,pitchraq,TFX4 and digitizer.

Stereo signal goes into 2 100W old JMP ('67 plexi,'72 metal face)marshall heads (preamp bypassed) going into 4 marshall cabs with different speakers.
Speakers used,old greenbacks,12GT75's,12G65 and V30's.

2nd rig is a pedal box (mostly boss and mxr) going into 2 marshall 100W master volume heads ('81 JCM800 and a '78 JMP) going into 2 marshall JCM800 cabs with 12G65's.

I'd certainly love to have a look at that, let alone rip of some fumbly noodling.

I remember when MJMP posted his rig pic last time, it took 2 days to download the page.  :thumb-up:
