Title: RIP George Young
Post by: rnolan on October 23, 2017, 03:51:02 AM
Apart from the Easy Beats, there wouldn't have been an AC/DC without George Young (http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-10-23/george-young-dies-easybeats/9077274).  He did more for the sound of Australian rock than anyone  >:D . And, as Angry Anderson from Rose Tattoo said "no one attacks a guitar like an Australian" (Seems to be in our DNA LoL, and I know just what he means  :whoohoo!: >:D )

This was AC/DC's early producer right?  Their cousin?  Young and Vanda?  R.I.P very important indeed!

I think he was the brother of Angus and Malcolm, no? and the production on those early AC/DC albums was superb, again another big loss!!

Spot on MJMP, he was their brother and initially got famous in the Easy Beats.  He and Harry Vanda (Vanda and Young) wrote Friday on My Mind etc.  After the Easy Beats, they got into writing and producing at Alberts Studios in Sydney.  They wrote and produced lots of hits for various people and were the foundation of the famous "Alberts" sound (AC/DC, Rose Tatoo, the Angles etc etc) which pretty much defined Australian rock.  Check out this doco, Blood and Thunder (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWafSDIZ8dw), it's a really good watch  :thumb-up:
