Hi everyone,
Just wanted to share my ADA story
I had two mp1s and an mp2 back in the day, along with the vintage split cabs which I sold to eventually get a marshall 4 x12.. Sold my mp1s and then lent out my mp2 to a friend 15 years ago, and wasn't able to get it back. Nowadays, primarily being a classical/ fingerstyle guitarist, I pretty much lost all interest in playing electric guitar up until a few months ago. I sold my Mesa rectoverb 50 combo for cheap a couple of years ago, because of this.
Wanted to get back into playing, I thought about what the best option for an amp would be without spending too much $. I found an mp2 on ebay, then convinced a someone to sell me a microtube 200 poweramp all the way in Portland. My thoughts on going back to ADA was that with my playing experience and age, I could get this thing to sound even better now. Back in my teens/ early 20's, I used way too much gain, and had no sense of tone. I just picked up a mesa mini-recto 1x12 cab, and it sounds killer. I think I prefer the mp2 to the mp1, because of the eq options. I am playing through a parker fly, which doesn't have a huge sound like a les Paul, and requires a lot of tweaking of the eq. My favorite patch so far is Dante's (I believe it's him) JCM 800 patch. I modified it slightly.
Anyways, that's about it.

Hi. Welcome aboard. :waving-banana-smiley-emoticon
That's a bitch about not being able to get your first mp2 back. :'(
Try not to let this one out of your sight.

Hi and welcome :thumb-up:

Just swapped out the stock tubes for some Mullard short plates in both the mp2 and the MT-200. Will finally get to test it out Sunday in a band setting.

Welcome from a neighbor one state away.

Hey losman26, welcome to the depot. I haven't tried the short plates in the/my MP2 but the long plates work a treat in that unit :thumb-up: .
