The BBE does definately help me get a bit closer to the tones that come out of my favorite generation of guitar tones, which is of course the 80s hiar-esque tones alla Vitto Bratta, Nuno, Lynch, etc. You just can't over-use/crank the knobs on the bbe, as too much of the process function makes the amp sound very sterile and digital sounding, and too much of the Lo contour knob makes the amp sound way too heavy in the low bass frequencies, and thus a bit muddy. With the process around the 1-2 mark, and the Lo contour around eleven o clock, it really helps the ADA mp-1 come to life a bit more, for me at least! It pulls the higher frequencies and lower frequencies out a bit further ah guess you can say, pronouncing them a bit more, which gives the ADA a more scooped sound, but not super scooped like a mesa! This definitely helps me at least, as ah have a bit of the problems with 500hz and 1khz mid range frequencies with the MP-1 units, as they have a whole lot of mids on tap, especially in the lower mid range to mid mid range, and the settings Ah use, include having those mids well up there (at 6 actually). Ah typically take about -5db off of 500hz and 1000hz on my 10 band eq, boost 2k by about 1db, and boost 250hz by 2db. Ah then adjusted the BBE to taste, and ah'm very very close to the tones ah've been chasing, and ah don't even have a decent power amp yet!
Got a carvin ts100 coming in soon though, so that's gonna be great!
