...some more Marty Friedman...triggered by this recent YT vid where he´s demoing the Bias FX App...
Not cuz of the app, but check out his A W E S O M E playing!

Wow some nice playing but he's always been a good player.I love his first solo album Dragon's kiss.

That bias stuff doesn't sound bad at all.Anyone using it?

It is a shame, Randy Coven was a very talented player ... same with Marcel Jacob, who did some great work with Talisman.

I've been listening to this song now for a couple of hours this morning, and also for about 4 hours yesterday!  That's f**king Overkill!  But hell this song is awesome!

It's by a little known Italian band who were rock generally but for the Dario Argento movie  "Opera" they did two songs different from their normal music style.  These songs are pure heavy metal!  Ther song in the link below is actually Archetypal, and I mean that in a good way!  I love how the guitars don't have shit load of distortion on them yet the whole mix is molten metal!  Love it!

Mmmm reminds me a bit of grave digger.

rabidgerry

Yeah I guess it's the vocals more than anythin that sound Grave Digger like.  No German accent though.

Great song regardless.

I do hope someday I can be as good as this guy.  Val Gaina is an underated god of guitar in my opinion!  How can you get this good living in the USSR with no or little exposure to the shredders of that day (1986)?

They got their exposure to shredders on the black market back in the day, just like they got everything else that was outside of the USSR. I don't know who this guy is, but I hear where he draws his compositional skills from, and that is from the Classical music that he probably heard growing up.
