Some of my patches
« on: Time Format »

Here are some of my patches.
All have both effect loops on:
Effectloop A is just a simple cord going from LoopAOut to LoopAIn
Effectloop B goes from LoopBOut to Digitech DHP33 then to Lexicon Reflex and back to LoopBIn
This way the effects are parallel to the direct sound
Some patches (not mentioned below) have only loop B selected, so the effects are connected serial (f.i. when I need a volume swell through midi on the DHP33 or when using the intelligent harmonising function of the DHP33).

Peter,

what do you mean by 'Stick-like sound' ?

Also, I didn't realize there were threshold and gain settings for the comp!!

Perhaps he's talking about a Chapman Stick?

Indeed I'm meaning 'Chapman Stick' like (although mine is homebuild  :thumb-up:)

The sound also works for normal bass, to make it more Stick-like

Found it,too much information on my PC

I think Peter has a V2.05 eprom so check your MB-1 eprom version before you load the sysex file into to your MB-1.Also doing this will overwrite your own presets,so make a dump of your original presets first.

Also note, that when doing this the effect loops are in my particular set-up.
Loop A being cabled directly from OUT to IN
Loop B going from OUT to Digitech DHP33 to Lexicon Reflex to IN.
This way I can I can use only 1 loop for effects, BUT I can choose to use it in parallel or in series.

Crazy for sure  :o
NO loops (or only loop A) selected in a patch means: MB1 only
Loop B selected in a patch means: MB1 -> Effects -> Output therefor serial connection
Loop A+B selected in a patch means: MB1 -> Output
                                                         -> Effects -> Output
                                                         Therefor parallel connection

Peter,

Sorry, the 'crazy emoji' got copied over from your first post!  Definitely don't think you're crazy.

So late last night I realized what you were doing with the FX loops, I think:

Bascially with loop A jumpered your getting a dry signal mixed in with the effects in loop B?

I read also that looping one effects loop from out to in also removes a click heard when changing effects related patches due to signal level differences from one patch to another. An experienced ear can probably set the effects gains to reduce the click. Not sure if it applies to the mb1 and I don't use effects.

My patches are set up as complimentary sets of three - one set with a hint of chorus, the second with more chorus and each of the three increases in volume

Multiply this with a few banks for the different guitars: Fernandez and schecter use one, Washburn another, fretless (garbage Chinese pups) needs it's own, ministar needs one too (j pup) and my ashbory requires special attention as well. Most of the difference between banks is tonal modification.

All in all, they are relatively simple, using both tube and as. All were set up so I don't have to play with any settings and volume changes are by patch as is some chorus.

I might add too that pretty much all of the bands I have played in have had a single guitar so I have needed to fill out my sound a lot too

My experience is patches are also very dependent upon your amp / speaker setup
