Guys how long can you run a headphone cable from the audio interface? I thinking on reordering my room and if I do that I will need be running a long headphone cable from the audio interface but dont know what effects will that have on the sound coming out of the headphones.
Any thoughts?
Well i use one that is about 5m without problems.Made it myself using 3 x 0.5mm² (or 20 AWG) cable.Depends a bit on the tickness of the cable. With 0.5 you can go even up to 10m without problems.
Probably depends on what's driving the cans (head phones) and impedance etc but I've also run quite long HP extension leads without any issue. I have a couple of Behringer rack head phone amps, not too expensive and gives you lots of versatility. Very useful if your doing harmonies vox overdubs and need to have a few sets available for the other singers etc
Well yesterday I bought online a pair of Sennheinser HD280 PRO headphones and a 25' Hosa cable extantion, so next week I will test them out! :)
Sennheisers are good,i have a HD497,got for more then 10 years now.Just needed to change the cable a few times but for the rest kickass headphone.
I use a small 4-channel headphone amplifier - you get a tremendous distance that way.
