MP1 touch panel, slow response
« on: Time Format »

Hello everyone, I have an MP1 with the version 2 eeprom and I find it kind of slow to respond when I press any of the buttons compared to my other two MP!'s that have the version 1 software installed. Is it the case with version 1 is faster than version 2?
I also find that the front panel feels much different to the two older MP1's so maybe thats why, I don't know but would like to know why this is

Does anyone have any comments on this matter please?

Hey Rusty, my understanding is that the v2 firmware fixed some midi issues and shouldn't make the panel switching slower. Not sure about front panel changes in the later MP1 versions, it may be the reason ?

(How much of a Delay are talkin about here? Seriously?) enough to notice obviously, did you take angry pills this morning Rob ? You recent posts have a real "edge" to them IMO

I never had a Panel act slow ever. How much of a delay? Are you being patient... I mean if it takes longer than you to count to Two then yes therea an issue.

Cheers,

Yes I'm being patient, I am used to using the MP1 as I have owned one from the late 80's then I bought two more a few years ago, this one that I am talking about is the later made MP1 unit.
The panel buttons are slow to respond on this later unit, some times I have to press like twice or hold the button in much longer than the other two MP1's to make the change. Also, the panel itself has a different feel or texture to it than the two older ones that I own.
I'll try changing the V2 eeprom with one of the V1 eeproms that are in the older ones to see what happens.

Thanks for the replies.

This seems to be more a problem with the front pannel itself.Don't think the eprom swap will help but there's no harm in trying. Also check if the plastic cable comming out of the front pannel is well seated in the connector on the mainboard. Now be carefull with this because if you damage the cable there's no way to repair it!!!!
