Quick question... on the 3TM daughter board, how are the tubes arranged, ie are V1-V3 from front to back or back to front?

What is the role / function of each of the 3 tubes in the circuit?

Any recommendations for best tubes in each position?

Thanks,

JK

V1 is close to the front panel.

V1 and V2 are gain stages, the OD2 gain is controlled between the first and second triode of V2.

V3, first triode is a gain stage, second triode is a cathode follower driving the tone section.

As for tubes, I like JJ's but other people like different brands, it's personal taste I guess.

There's been a lot of discussion concerning tube rolling, and trying various strength tubes in different positions.

From what I've been able to put together from these discussions concerning the un-modded MP-1, The most popular trend seems to be putting the higher gain tubes in the V1 positions, and the tubes with not quite as high gain strength in the V2, for a more organic or vintage type of amp distortion.
For a more metal type distortion, it seems to be high gain tubes in both positions.

I don't know if this applies to the 3TM though.
