Few questions
« on: Time Format »

So i bought me an Ada mp1, but the sound gets a bit muddy after a while... Could it be that the tubes are old? What tubes do u guys recommend?

May be the tubes, always worth changing them out every few years (depending on use).  My personal favourite tubes are the New Sensor Mullard reissues (12AX7s), very 3D tube (good in MP1 or MP2).  Although I also liked the Boogies STR 12AX7As in my MP1 when I had one.  Dougs tubes said the Boogies were JJs which quite a few people like.  Tubes choice is very subjective and you can end up with a drawer full of them trying to get what you personally like.

I usually use the Ruby 12ax7CZ HG,these are actually JJ's but tested by Ruby.

I agree with MJMP, the Ruby tested JJs would be a very good choice and probably quite similar (if not the same) as the Boogie STRs.

They would be fine but they're a bit expensive, I'd maybe go for these (http://www.dougstubes.com/preamp-tubes/12ax7-ecc83-7025/ruby-12ax7-acz-high-grade.html) or my personal favourite (http://www.dougstubes.com/preamp-tubes/12ax7-ecc83-7025/mullard-12ax7.html).

Thxs, i'll check them out.
Btw, i'm not a rhythm guitar player, so i want a smooth (not harsh) lead sound, that still has an edge so it's not all butter.

I saw this cab simulator http://www.thomann.de/be/two_notes_torpedo_live.htm
Anyone had expericence with one of these (+ADA ofcourse).

Then I'd definitely go for the Mullards, plenty of gain, low noise, very musical and 3D tube, I love them in my MP2.  There are some other guys here across the torpedo stuff, I've not used it or needed to (the MP2 has great cab sims) so I'll leave that to them, the new ADA cab sims (http://www.adaamps.com/Products/ada-GCS/GCS.htm) are also worth a look, ADA make very good cab sims....
