George Lynch REH Rig
« on: Time Format »

It's no secret I'm a big Lynch fan, and after seeing and hearing some clips of Lynch with the MP1, I wanted to take a closer look at what he was running in the late 80s, specifically the REH tape circa 1990.  (see video link below)

Here's what I came up with.

Left-most rack, top to bottom:
-unknown power conditioner but marked "GS4000"
-BBE Sonic Maximizer 422
-ADA MP1
-Roland GP50
-Rane Line Splitter
-Lexicon LXP1
-Kawali mixer
-TC Electronic 2290
-Eventide H3000B
-Rocktron switching system (?)
-unknown Rocktron unit

Right-most rack, top to bottom:
-BBE422
-Rane Line Splitter
-Rocktron Hush IICX
-unknown Roland unit
-Engl 520 preamp
-Mesa Strategy 400 power amp

He's also running 2 Engl heads, at least 1 Soldano, 2 Marshall cabs, and a Rivera on the far right.  Any insight you guys can add to the couple of unknowns would be helpful.

I once saw a pic where he also had an ADA digitizer in his rack.

It looks like one of the rocktron units is a Pro Q.

He is the most inconsistent player gear-wise I have ever seen.  He doesn't seem to stick to one brand, save ESP guitars, and his rigs are all over the place even within the span of a year.  In 1989 he would've been running an MP1, Yamaha R1000, Yamaha SPX90, and Roland SDE3000 rig, but then by 1990 he has all that crap above.  I guess Dokken really cleaned up on that live album and Japanese tour, eh?
