Y'know, the only amp I think I've ever missed, is the B200s

I have owned (or still own) almost every damn ADA power amp and I think I prefer the B200s to them all. Anybody who wants to trade my Microtube 200 for a B200s, lemme know.

Hmmm... I started the post by remniscing about the B200s, now I should move it to the Classifieds :/

That said, I think I will keep my T100s forever...even if it does outweigh my car

Hi Dante, there is one on Ebay right now...looks very nice too!  :) I would have bought it if it was a European model / 220 volts.

You prefer them just for just bass playing or for guitar too?

B200s is intended for guitar, but I believe the B500 was for bass

I only used it for guitar

So whats the difference between the B200 and the Microtube 200?

I will like to know because I have a Microtube 100.

The only real difference, from a player's perspective, is that one is 2u and the other is 1u. The B200s is all solid state and the Microtube 100 runs the signal through the 12ax7 tubes to warm it up a bit. I really like the sound of the MT100 too, but the B200s was just a brick of killer, clean volume.

The Microtube (as Dante says) are a hybrid amp with a tube front end and ss power stage. Also the B200s is ~124 wRMS per channel into 4 ohms, so a bit more power than the MT200.
I've also got a real soft spot for the B200s, Dante you'll be (sort of) happy to know that your old one is now living at the south coast of NSW Australia with a friend of mine and now sports a nice new toroidal power transformer for Aust voltage.
My B200s developed a horrible intermittent (loud) crackle in one channel.  The tech said it wasn't worth me paying him to change every component on the board to fix it as he couldn't find what was causing it (seems capacitor related to me).  Anyway, I needed a power amp so bought a Carvin TS100 all valve 50watts a side.  Very nice amp and I'm quite happy with it but I also miss my B200s which is now sitting in a box doing nothing.  I also have the US transformer from Dante's old B200s sitting there doing nothing.  Dante, maybe we can work something out here ?
The B500 was for guitar or bass I seem to remember, I've only ever seen one in Canberra, it was in a guitar rig with an MP1 I think.  They're such clean transparent (and warm) amps you could use them for either

Shoot, I'd LOVE to have a working Microtube 200 OR B200s either one!  :thumb-up:

Put a want to aquire in the buy sell ADA gear, you're US  IIRC so state what you want/are after and see what pops up. IMHO, I'd go with B200s  >:D , I had an US MT100 for a bit, it was US model so had to use step down transformer here in Oz. didn't float my boat, I've used a B200s for a very long time, great transparent power amp. Currently I use a Carvin TS100 al tube 50/50 w, love it also.

Yeah, post in the Classified section. Somebody may have what you're looking for.

I liked the sound of my MT100 (I had two of them), but they were just too delicate an kept crapping out on me. The MT200 has been pretty reliable, and sounds great. Other than taking FOREVER to start up sometimes (usually, after not being used for a long time, it's very slow to start up), it's been a very good amp.

I never had a problem with the T100s that I no longer have. I sold it to somebody here on the Depot though. That amp was brutal (in a good way) but heavier than my car - a fact that has already been established.

Just run a WANTED ad in the classified section of the Depot, that's your best bet to get the ball rolling. Here are a couple links to get you there faster:

Hey

I have a MT200 lying around i don't use.Email me if you're interested!

Hey MJMP, he needs a 110v model for the US (so 2 transformer changes or a step up transformer (to proper voltage LOL)).  But if you had a spare B200s, (well apart from I'd like it LOL) I have Dante's old US B200s transformer sitting in a cupboard. But I might take the MT200 of your hands (as is right voltage for here and you'll have spare Oz power plugs)?
