It's freaking me out! I've gotte nthis damn annoying habit of swapping certain letters, like writing ocmmon instead of common.
I could of ocurse simply swap the keys nad mod the keyboard driver, but..
And the plot thickens.. 'cause I do this in English only! Danish, German, Swedish, Norwegian.. nada problemas.

I have no freaking mechanism to ocmbat thsi.
Take a courseware in typewriting?
Pay a shrink for correcting the sink?
Vacation to Puru doing three weeks with a Shaman on Ayahuasca? :amaze:
Electro shock?
Three weeks of Yoga retreat?
Hu meditation?
New keyboard with pink back-lights?
A nasty mistress spanking me every time I ytpe ;D

Any methods I might've missed?
If this continues, soon I'll start speeleng my handle 'vna Isnn'..

"Welcome to the ADA Depot! We can troubleshoot anything, fix erratic behavior of any kind.
We'll even spank the mistress and offer advice on electroshock treatment - we know a thing or two about high voltage applications.."

Thank you so much for fixing my ESP (erratic speeleng problem); I already feel so much improvement.
"Look ma, my shakes are gone! I can write again!"

Innit just too weird?  Since writing about this - which weren't simply my usual crying wolf - my speeleng and letter reversals has improved, say, 286 percent. Not joking, folks, and I think it's simply that I became more aware of what I already knew: Thinking faster than I can type.
Might even at some point dare try to pass a Mensa test.. :dunno:

Indeed, Ada Depot can fix anything, even speeleng and, I'm sure, people's heads.
(hint: I need two heads for my rig; just a couple of H&K Metal Masters or Cream Machines)

I guess that it depends on just how much it annoys you.  Muscle memory is a wondrous thing, except when trained incorrectly.

You really only have two choices:  Rely on a tool like auto correct or retrain that muscle memory.

I believe that you likely know how to train muscle memory from playing guitar, apply the same thing to typing. :D

As far as only happening in English, context is very important.  I know for myself, I have a couple of oddball things
musically, and those oddities can be explained by muscle memory, and training.

I still struggle on guitar in areas, and tense up easily.  I do not on violin.  But, I learned both very differently.
They have some similarities, and many differences, but I think the biggest difference is in my approach to learning both.

I can sight read on violin, cello, trumpet, french horn, but on guitar and keyboard I cannot.  I just vapor lock trying to read
music.  That could be corrected with training though.

Bingo! Thanks for those comments, Zilthy.
Oh, and nice meting you again ;)

Interesting you should mention muscle memory.. in my skydiving days, I encountered two different, though related, theories and practices on how to remember the moves up in the air, under high stress during a 45-60 sec dive.

When training, say, a four-way competition dive on the ground before going up, we would not just reach out after some-whatever rotation/move, but physically take the grip.
Then when going through the motions alone, we'd close our eyes, and mentally 'walk it' - and always physically close the grip, thus building muscle memory.
Omitting this would lead to forgetting to actually take the grip up there, resulting in losing a point during competition (you must demonstrate taking the physical grip when completing each move).

Now, because of these talks in this discussion, I've already managed to retrain my typing.
What remains is purely retraining my sick humor. But that'll of course be mission impossible..

Do you use win10?

I think I started writing entire words backward since I moved to windows 10. This is really strange.

Hahaha, that's one of the best I've heard in a long time:
"Install WindBlows Force Factor 10, and you'll be blown backwards!"
Which begs the question: Does Microsoft make operating systems attempting to run applications, or applications attempting to be operational.. :dunno:

But there's probably something about it. I never flipped letters when being purely on Linux; it gradually kicked in after starting to use a WoindBlows 7 lappie.
I shall revert to the OpenSource ASAP!
