Hey Peter, very nice  :thumb-up: looks awesome.  Interesting, so are all basses where you add an additional top string tuned to C (rather than B as on a guitar) ?

Thanks

Yes, always B to C.

The shift to the high string as a B would make it also logical to tune the G to an F#, but tha makes no sense as you would never play open string or barre chords on a bass (which is the purpose of G to B shift, from natural fourths, on a guitar).

Hey Peter,

A sweet build here. It looks like you capped the neck-through portion of the body, (didn't like the look of the striped neck maybe)?

Is that a standard tuning for the bass guitar in 6 strings? (I haven't a clue). I'm thinking a 5-string bass would probably be the most I could handle, (with a low B). That would probably cover just about everything I would play on a guitar, since I don't use to many different alternate tunings.

    Nice work Pete :thumb-up:

Since I hollowed out the body I needed more depth than the neck blank could provide on its own.
Also I do like it when you cannot see the neckthrough part (except on the strapbutton side)

Yup B to C is as standard as it gets :thumb-up:

All this time I thought there was a top and bottom B string, but this tuning would throw me off a bit. (Guitar player's habit).
I would be reaching for the half step up or down from my current position, more from finger memory than anything else from the G string.
