Personally, I'd get the lid done here by a sheet metal guy (and they are pretty good at what they do and buy the MP1 from Max (via MJMP with all necessary mods)  :whoohoo!: ). But hey, I'm becoming an ADA collector  , although I'm still at the small end compared to some here LoL.

Shipping from MJMP will be similar to what Max is saying, basically if it's not to heavy (e.g. MP1/2 etc) add $100 ish for postage.

No worries it will probably be too expensive- thanks anyway

Just fill the scratches with filler or black paint, sand it and apply a spray coat.
Often, those very light surface-scratches can be done using a fine-tipped black marker pen ;)

Hey Van, from what he was saying it's got some much bigger dents than that, not just bad rack rash  :dunno:

Ooups, didn't read it all..

Dents and bends can be hammered out using a small'ish hammer with almost flat, yet just softly rounded, head against a flat slab of heavy metal.
I used to have a leveled one-inch steel slab for such things (lost it).
The technique is to hold the hammer balanced, so one can just lightly tap-trim the blows.

This will of course not correct deep scratches.

Hmm flat slab of heavy Metal, maybe use a Metalica (substitute HM band of choice) cd or lp LoL

Can anyone advise what type and size screws are used for the covers?

A couple of mine seem stripped and cross threaded.

I want to replace them.

Thanks

A common problem it seems.  I have stripped threads in many of my units (well no doubt we all do) and I'm overly meticulous when I take them out and always put the same screw back in the same hole.... .  The ADA screws are imperial (as are US), if you go metric (but very slightly larger) it may fix it.  MJMP posted the screw sizes ages ago and there is a post or 2 about this (do a search of the posts).  Or maybe he'll post here again.

Those screws are 4-40 x 1/4 philips head ,countersunk. If the holes are stripped you can use M3 screws since these are only slightly larger then the 4-40, but best to use a M3 tap to put some new thread in there. Works great, done this with a few of my units. Just be carefull that no metal bits fall into the PCB.
