My name is Peter H. Boer
Started out as a drummer but quit that when entering teens.
Picked up bass at the end of highschool and started playing classic rock (though it wasn't called 'classic' then yet
), which soon drifted into NWoBHM and progressive rock, with sidesteps to jazz, jazz-rock fusion and the likes.
My main bass influences were and are: Geddy Lee, Steve Harris, Alain Caron, Michael Manring, Gary Thain, Anthony Jackson, Chris Squire, etc.
General influences: Allan Holdsworth, Rush, Yes, Pain of Salvation, Wagner, Puccini, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Iron Maiden, Thelonious Monk, etc.
I already was using several basses (6-string fretted, 8-string (4 with octaves) & fretless) when the first adds for MB-1 appeared in Bass Player mag. This allowed me to switch instruments without having to redial the sound. So I bought one when they entered the European market, and the rest is history.
Fast forward 10 something years:
I find ADADepot while looking for places to service my MB-1 as ADA itself when belly-up by then.
Since then the Depot has cost me a lot of money though
, as I now own 2 MB-1s (one in the live rack, 1 in the studio) both equiped with an MDRT, BB opamps and some minor other upgrades.
An MP-1 with MDRT, and Jur's old MP-1 Mod4Mk2 with MDRT.
I currently hold the bass-chair in 3 bands:

I have my own hobby/project studio, which keeps me busy enough, also for bands outside those I play in:
