Just mined Craigslist gold. An MP-2 and a slant splitstack.
Pictures soon. The screen backlight is out but still readable.
I had a MP-2 for a while from Adam but we traded back.
Looking forward to putting it through it's paces.
:metal:
Nice! :thumb-up: I have had my MP2 for about 6 weeks now. I have a few patches I really like but still some tweaking to be done. I also love my slant split stacks....vintage 80's tone! I haven't used the MP2 live yet but I think within the next few weeks I'll give it a go. The only thing I don't like about it is the noise gate, it's too abrupt, :dunno: no matter how I set it.
What's better than an MP-2 and a Splitstack? An MP-2 with TWO Splitstacks! :banana-rock:

+1 :thumb-up:
Lol Kim...... I'll be running 3 Splitstacks in w/d/w setup.I still have my two straight ones.
As far as the MP2, it's very clean and doesn't have any of the issues with the compressor or wah, etc.

The NG depends how you set it, (like all gates). does it cut or fade.... I tend to run mine as fade. Mmm MP2 > decent amp ( B200s or TS100), split stacks Mmmmm heaven on a stick :thumb-up:
It cuts, sharply and abruptly. Tried setting it different ways but still no joy.
Awesome!! Congrats on the new pre. I just pulled my MP-2 out of storage (I'm moving right now) and plugged it into the computer. It sounds great running direct. One of the things I love about it.
I just saw a couple split stacks on CL the other day....it hurts a little to watch them go by, but I don't want any more cabs

Have you tried adjusting the screen contrast? That might help.

Hey Harley, you can't adjust the contrast with an MP-2,it has a fixed contrast.

That's strange, I set mine to fader mode and it's not too abrupt, you need to get the threshold right though..

Yes, you're right. I must have been thinking about my Lexicon LXP-15. It has the same kind of LCD display, and I had to adjust that once, My bad.

All good Harley.
I read the other thread about the screen backlight. Weirdly enough, one of the backlights flickered on for a second or two in the middle of the screen but just as a glowing dot. I might have to pull the top and check the connections, etc.
When I used to run Quadraverbs, those displays would go out too so I have some experience with replacing screens.
I bought off of the original owner and unfortunately he had already sold the MT100 he had.
He said this unit is completely unmodded.
Most older gear with LCD screens had a contrast setting except ADA's ;D so Harley you are forgiven hahaha.
Did the whole backlight flicker or jst those 2 leds in the middle? If so then I don't think anything can be done since the backlight is behind the lcd and the leds are in some transparent resin solution. So you can't open it up to fix it inside.
Just the two LED's. Definitely not the whole screen. Good news is that the screen functions fine otherwise. I didn't see any characters out or any resolution issues so far.
I never saw a busted lcd usually the leds break down.

Ah, I had forgotten that you already had a pair of Splitstacks. lol
I gotta say though (for the benefit of the others who don't already run a stereo rig) that once you go to a stereo rig, a mono one is just "meh". ;)
