Title: Storm and crash crash..
Post by: vansinn on March 12, 2020, 09:15:23 PM
Problems problems..  The tent attached to my trailer collapsed in a storm. Just a few seconds, and it's all a pile of cloth and bent rods. Glad I never arranged it for living room/kitchen as many do it; it's just a windshed and for storing stuff.
Damn, not too much money and right before having to pre-pay the next full year for my spot here.
Could maybe be fixed with new rods, but it isn't a very sturdy  summer-tent, so will likely get a smaller and more sturdy winter tent (called a stand-by tent).

These near-storms have kept me awake in the night for month, as the tent flaps in-out, making the whole trailer setup shake like a.. blender with unbalanced motor on steroids.  Chugga chugga, but will it djent? Nope.
I'm sick and tired of living like this, unable to get an affordable apartment - which hardly exists anymore.

Hehe, yeah well..  shit happens ;)
Got the mess cleaned-up, tent hardly damaged, needs 7-8 new rods, but I've decided to fix it up and sell it later, as these summer tents are simply too weak and fluffy.
Bought a used smaller stronger stand-by tent at a good price from a girl I know; one of those self-standing ones, so the trailer can be moved.  Will make it a lot easier later when I replace my trailer for a larger one.  Too windy now, setting-up Tuesday.

But, more hehe..  my trailer was setup on adjustable lifters (whaz the eng word?), about 4-5 cm up.
When the tent caught air, the pull was so strong it ripped the trailed off the stands and was moved almost half a meter during the landing procedure.
Lucky me, just one plastic corner damaged + one adjustable support leaver bent.
