I may seem a little uneducated, but, what kind of Mod can be done (if any) to reduce noise that the pre-amp emits?

Hey Derek, simple answer as you have MP1, there are a few noise mods available (MJMP can help you here) and also the MDRT replacement transformer I believe will also help and also make your MP1 sound better.
Longer answer is lots of things can influence the noise, from not good cables, single coil PUs (and fluro lights), how much gain you use (boosts noise as well as signal), if your gain structure is good (bad gain structure invites noise).
Another ADAer here changed out all the op amps for more modern better specked versions, with from what he said, remarkable results, particularly less noise, so depends how far you want/need to go....
BTW new tubes can also help, depending how old they are etc.
