I'll check tonight :thumb-up:
I guess so :dunno:
I'll try to find a plugin for audio files for this board...Otherwise, we could store them on my server and just post links to them...
Great idea, Dante, have you got the disk space for this ?? could get large ish. Maybe we should use FLACs to keep the size down but not loose to much quality ?
QuoteGreat idea, Dante, have you got the disk space for this ??
I have unlimited disk space
Not unlimited bandwidth though, I'd like to find a way to use Soundcloud or some other hosting site for this...stay tooned, I'll look into it.
Remember this one?

Nope, I honestly never knew about that.. Who owns it? Who has access?

Seeing as the top video has a Dutch name, and is dedicated to finding money for braintumors, I'm asuming it is/was Jur's.
I do not know who has access now, maybe SAN knows.

Not sure who owns the original files. IIRC, the first soloist (Matt with the Canadaian flag) handled the distribution of backing clips, but not sure how much he had to do with the rest of it. I wanna say he was one of the "masterminds" behind the whole mixing thing. The video editing was done by Arco, whoever that is, somewhere in Europe.

Worst case scenario: I set up a new Youtube Channel with the username ADADepotToo

I think either Jur RIP or Arco own the original files
Arco was Dreaming#11 on the old Depot, a frien of Jur, and a fellow Dutchie 8)
(I've sent him an e-mail, to see if he knows).
Ah. I was confused. I thought Dante was asking about the vid, not the YouTube channel.
I'm thinking it was Jurrie's, but cannot recall.
Isn't there an Internet Archive site somewhere that does nothing but back up various sites, simply for propserity? I don't think you have to ask them, they just do it. They might have the old site archived.

The old site was run from a server in Jur's home.
This server was then moved to SAN and subsequently moved to VanSinn.
This server broke down (physically) before the date could be fully salvaged.
Attempts could still be made but VanSinn fell from the radar.
Peter
Peter I don't have #6 :dunno:
Speaking of, where is Chester the Jester these days?
we could also post them on soundclick or reverbnation??
I know Chester, SAN, Chucky, WOlfie and I have SC accounts.

Hey Matt,
www.adadepot.com is alive again.
Dante Mutti has been able to revive it (allthough without historic data).
A lot of the old gang is returning
See you there :)

the old website is in the Archive, the old Jams are there but no #6 :(
and I like the idea of having video on YouTube of the jams... not too hard hard to do and would help people to have a chance to hear the full capacity of the mp-1/2/1c!
It's only normal that you won't find Jam #6 guys...Because there never was.
I can't remember the whole story about it, I think we were in the process of making
2 jams in parallel. The #7 came out and the 6th never did.
I remember Jurrie put a link nonetheless for Jam 6 that, when clicked on, some picture
showed up with the mention: Sorry, no Jam 6!!!
It became an inside joke thing...We felt it was fun just to leave the Jam 6 being nothing.
And we moved on to newer jams. :P

Why LOL. Been giving this some thought, how do we facilitate a jam, participation (lead, rhythm, bass, vocal parts, drums/perc, other inst) over the internet, keeping sound quality consistent but band width down (lower sound quality unfortunately).

Don't worry dude. We've had Chucky, RobV and Peter do a great job with past jams. I think I remember just sending a wav file in the past. Most of the drums (excluding Stars) were done with software. Some jams we each partnered with someone to do the rhythm tracks and then we each added a solo over it. Peter takes care of the bass and mastering cuz he's the sound engineer guru. lol

We're Stars used live drums by a friend of Jur recorded in Jur's studio
Purple rain used live drums by a friend of mine recorded in my studio
The rest indeed has been VSTI drums :thumb-up:
