Removing Tubes in MP-2
« on: Time Format »

Before I destroy this due to some unknown technique, is there anything specific I need to know about removing/replacing the tubes in my MP-2? Is it more than a simple "twist and/or pull here"?

They can be a bit tight, don't twist just pull them from their sockets as gently as you can, you may want to have a finger steady the tube socket/board so as not to put any strain on the tube board (both removal and insertion).  Watch out for the heat resistant foam spacers around the tubes, they are easy to break at their thinnest points. I found it easier/better to insert the new tubes with the foam spacers on the tube rather than trying to push them on after (I think I learned that by breaking one a bit trying to slide it on after putting the tube in). Also take note of where the foam spacers are located and orientated (they're not symmetrical) before you remove the tubes so you can get them back in the same position.
