Wauw Kim, this is great ,love it  :thumb-up:

Good songs and the recording is also very good. Did you do this yourself or did you guys went to a studio?

Thanks!

We did this ourselves.  Our "studio" is our homes, respectively; guitars done at my house, bass and vox done at Stanski (Stan) house, drums done at Craig's place.   Mixes mostly done at my house, final mixes done at Stan's, and where he sends them for mastering I'm not sure.

All the main guitar stuff is Quad Tube, done in four tracks (that's two mics, and double tracked).
SM57 close (pan Left) and room condenser mic (pan Right).
Then tracked again with SM57 close (pan Right) and room condenser mic (Pan Left)
The amp's EQ was set fairly flat.  My "normal" EQ setting shook and rattled the entire room, so.....

The Clean and heavy fx guitars (the whooshing, swirly stuff) was MP-2 Recording Outs with Xpression fx unit in loop.  I couldn't get the fx the way I wanted them in Post production so I opted to just use exactly what I use for the fx when playing live.

We're also about to wrap up the LP soon, and those songs should sound even better!

BTW what does  Ov Moros mean?
Wikipedia:  In Greek mythology, Moros is the being of impending doom, who drives mortals to their deadly fate (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moros).  So we are "Of Moros" and just changed the spelling of "Of" to "Ov" to make it a little more authentic.  ;)

Thank you!
Candlemass is one of my all-time fav bands, so any comparison to them is extremely flattering to me.   :)
Funny how I used to be the thrash player, but now I much prefer to write and play stuff much slower and maybe more meaningful.  I want to "tell a story" or "take the listener to another place" with my music.  No need to make things more complicated than it needs to be.  lol

Hey Kim,finally got a chance to have a listen, very cool  :thumb-up: , just listening to Creeper, reminds me of listening to Sabbath back in my teens. Hope the gig goes well tomorrow  :headbanger:

I finally listened too - just let me say, this music scares me a little.  :amaze:

Good stuff Kimmer!

BTW: Creeper is totally a Sabbath-esque tune, i could hear Ozzy doin this. Love the shuffle break in that one. I like the delay on the solo sound in Sniper. Is that a different wah in Set in Stone?

Scary music...but it's scary good...do you have to use really big guitars to tune them down low like that?  ;D

Thanks!   I swear I couldn't write happy sounding stuff even if my life depended on it!  lol

......I like the delay on the solo sound in Sniper. Is that a different wah in Set in Stone?

Both wah sounds are from the Morley Tremonti wah.  The differences in sound came from slightly different recording techniques; iirc one of the solos was done with the MP-2/Xpression/Recording Outs while the other was done with the Quad Tube.  Sorry I don't remember which was which, but I can say that the Pitch Shifted solos are definitely the MP-2/Xpression rig. I've been trying a few different things along the way (recording techniques) and still have a few more ideas I'd like to try for the future in my quest for better quality recordings.

Hey Kim,

I just now got a chance to listen to these songs, and I like to do that when I first wake up so my mind is fresh, and unaffected by life's everyday bullshit.

     GREAT STUFF :thumb-up:

I can't say this is the kind of music that I'd play, but I can get into listening to it. You guys did a great job with the recording too, and for home studio production, it sounds very impressive. It inspires me to get my new studio gear together, and get it up and running so I can get into the flow.
The hard thing for me is to pick a favorite out of these four, but I have to say I really liked Creeper. The Sabbath/ Alice In Chains influence is definitely there and one of your strongest songs, (IMHO).

BTW In modern domestic Greek, "Moro" is the word for baby or infant  ;D
