Title: "Blue" MP1 Improvised jam
Post by: Black_Haus on December 08, 2018, 10:46:38 PM
Hey guys,

Here's a song that was literally created out of the "Blue".

My Bass player started playing this cool riff one night at band practice and Rob (the drummer) and I jumped in. Our singer at the time had a small Zoom stereo recorder rolling. I did some EQ'ing, and a few percussion fills and Drum layers in Presonus Studio One and this is the end result. I added some random stuff to the intro because there was some talking going on before we got started.

I know there area a couple of "not quite there" notes but I left them as is for authenticity. Thanks in advance for listening.

That would normally be designated a pretty pretty improvisation gig, even for a prepared gig.
But out of the Blue.. really pretty cool!
Kodos to ya all - and always good to hear from you ;)

Thanks for listening Van,

I thought the MP-1 sounded pretty good on the raw recording. Had to do EQ'ing mainly for the drums, cymbals & bass. The bass is still a little lower in the mix than I would have liked, but since it was just a single stereo wav. file this is where it ended up.

That sounded very nice for a "jam"  :thumb-up:
