Interesting you should mention muscle memory.. in my skydiving days, I encountered two different, though related, theories and practices on how to remember the moves up in the air, under high stress during a 45-60 sec dive.
When training, say, a four-way competition dive on the ground before going up, we would not just reach out after some-whatever rotation/move, but physically take the grip.
Then when going through the motions alone, we'd close our eyes, and mentally 'walk it' - and always physically close the grip, thus building muscle memory.
Omitting this would lead to forgetting to actually take the grip up there, resulting in losing a point during competition (you must demonstrate taking the physical grip when completing each move).
Now, because of these talks in this discussion, I've already managed to retrain my typing.
What remains is purely retraining my sick humor. But that'll of course be mission impossible..
