Nice one Harley ... Mr Lynch finally makes an appearance on this thread :thumb-up:

Another recent one ... Sweet/Lynch - Only To Rise

+1 :thumb-up:

Dying Rose is a killer 80's melody all the way! I've always been a huge fan of George Lynch, and one of my favorite songs has always been "All I Want," from the Wicked Sensation album. That's the all time best power blues tune I've ever heard IMHO, and the guitar solo in that songs still ranks up there with the best of the metal heads.

Wicked Sensation ... top album, just played it again recently (as well as Under Lock and Key). It got me interested in his playing style again so I dug out his first instructional video, I'd forgotten that there was some footage on there of George doing some Wicked Sensation overdubs :thumb-up:

Dream Theater - The Astonishing
...felt/sounded a tad bit *awkward* during the first spin...song-arragement and style wise. But it definitely grows on you!
Some of the best JP moments, both playing and especially sound-wise (...Mesa Boogie JP-2C+... put in a pre-order!!)

Megadeth - Dystopia
Solid Mega-Dave from start to finish, real good and fat/pleasing sounding production. Kiko does a good job, but I still prefer Broderick and Friedman (Tornado Of Souls solo....unrivalled.... Hirajōshi scale FTW!!!)

I agree with you SC, but the New line up has done a good job anyway .That's pretty much the case for each album
Pitrelli, Drover, Broderick...I've never seen an average guitar player

Also waiting on the new dream theater album.I hope it's better then the last one.I feel since Portnoy left ,DT has gone down hill.Altough Mangini is a better drummer in a technical sense,he just can't seem to put the same feel into DT as Portnoy did.

Nope...he did "Name That Tune" on the Pokemon drum kit that Mike Portnoy requested.

Oh yes, MJMP: I don't believe Mike Mangini is a better drummer than Portnoy, he's just different. What really has changed about DT these days is that the remaining band members have to push and promote themselves now, since that was something Portnoy did on his own for the whole 25 years he was with DT. He put a lot of pressure on himself in that respect, and after all that time, it was understandable why he needed to get a break and get out from under that weight. He's starting to do the same thing thing with the Winery Dogs now, but you can tell he's trying to hold himself back at the same time. He's trying to just focus on being a contributing member of a band instead of pushing the musical direction as he did in DT, but his nature is trying to push it's way through! Isn't it funny how we all seem to want to change aspects of our personalities that define who we are?

Winery dogs, really good band. Billy Sheehan is really good to create new project. At the time MrBig, later Niacin...Now,  winery dogs. He reproduce what he did before with Talas(power trio), but WD sounds less late 70's.
Really good project !
