Hey Shibiwan, wow, that's 3 very very nice looking guitars.  I agree the maple top is just gorgeous.  IIRC 1989 was around when the best Charvels were made?  My Anderson is 2 years earlier, 1987 vintage

Hey Harley, I agree, I saw Hipshot were doing the staggered post tuners, good idea, although I like to have at least 3 turns around the post, which partly comes from my early days when I needed to repair broken strings coz I couldn't afford to buy new ones.  But also because it helps with string break.  And then, not all string trees are equal either.

Hey assquatch, did you sell the other bits?

Thanks Harley, that's good to know.  I thought it would be the same as the MP-2.

Hey Bret, glad you have a couple of (very nice) alternatives.  Not sure how/if you can disable it.  Let us know if you work it out, better still fix it.  I'll PM Gregg to maybe have a look into it if he has time.

Nice setup there Shibiwan,
That Charvel finish looks like something from a Sci-fi movie  :thumb-up:

Thanks!

I've been cleaning up and restoring my old guitars. The Charvel has been with me since 1989. The flame maple top is spectacular.

Dante,

All my MT 200s are either racked up or packed up at the moment. I can't recall the part number, but they are easy to spot.

Take off the top cover and look for two transistors about an inch long. There are two for each channel. They look like a black square with a metal square the same size on top of it and a screw holds this down to the chassis. On the bottom of the black square there will be three legs soldered to a PCB. Those are the culprits.
You should be able to read the part numbers on the front of the black square.

Richard,

The string trees on a Strat can be a mixed blessing. They can help with stock post tuners, but with staggered post tuners, you want to take them off, (like I did with my 1980 STRAT).
